Almost twenty youth gathered Tuesday night at the Ward's for a "Summer's End Get Together". The featured activity was laser tag along with other games and a cookout. The evening concluded with an outdoor movie showing of "Rabbit-Proof Fence" on a big screen.
Well, “Summer’s End” sounds a bit depressing, but “School’s In” is not a real exciting name for a get-together either. Lacking anything better, we will stick with “Summer’s End Get-together” and keep it fun!
We will plan on a cook-out, maybe do a bit better than hot-dogs. Weather permitting we will have an opportunity to do laser tag and watch an out-door movie.
This is also our opportunity to welcome those joining our group as 7th graders. Plan on coming out, showing your support, and getting to know these new folks!
Please let us know your intent to come as soon as possible so we can get food and laser guns lined up, and no later than Sunday August 24th.
When: 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm
Where: At the Ward’s house: Smithsburg, MD It’s not that far from the “Y”, even though in MD! Be sure to ask for directions this Sunday
Cost: $5.00 per person, but the 7th graders get to come free!
What to bring: Lawn chair, bean-bag chair, or blanket to sit on for eating and the movie. You might want to bring a sweatshirt in case it gets cold.
Some of the girls who won the spring Quiet Time competition were treated to an evening of mini-golf and ice cream. We all had a great time even though one of the leaders won...I won't say who! Great job Megan, Jordan and Camille!
