Lots of fun, lots of fellowship, lots of good music (as we sat in front of the speakers in the convention hall, I put Kleenex in my ears, an old trick, so yes I can still hear), but most importantly a chance to be challenged by the Gospel message by nationally recognized youth communicators.
Runks Runkels (http://www.runks.com) focused on the reality of “rubbing shoulders” with Jesus and the need for a personal relationship. Joel Sonnenberg (www.joelsonnenberg.com), burned over 85% of his body at 22 months of age and not expected to live, shared with kids a story of overcoming incredible adversity. The group “One Time Blind” (www.onetimeblind.org) performed drama ministry to communicate the gospel message.
Our youth came away contemplating the messages that they heard, impressed with the authenticity of the speakers, and looking forward to next year’s conference!
