Impact 2009

Impact 2009 Youth Conference – Life in High Definition!

Fourteen youth and adults from Crosswalk joined over 3,000 students gathered at Ocean City the weekend of March 28th for the Impact Conference (http://www.impactalive.net/) We were gripped and motivated by testimonies of some very “impacting” speakers such as Steve Fitzhugh (http://www.powermoves.org), formerly of the Denver Bronco’s, Tyra Lokey (http://www.tyralokey.com) who overcame a horrific childhood to touch thousands with the love of Christ, and Curt Cloninger (http://www.curtcloninger.com) a terrific Christian actor. Daniel’s Window led us in praise over the three days and Skillet performed an awesome concert.

Listen to what some of the youth had to say about their time at the conference:

“I really liked Curt Cloninger’s version of the prodigal son. It really made me think if I left my dad, what he would do. It also made me think, what if I left God behind?”

“God laid on my heart that I need to work on some things. In God’s power I can become closer to Him.”

“I haven’t felt close to God recently, but hearing people talking about it makes me think about it a lot more, and makes me thankful for my family.”

“I liked how they told you that God will love you not matter what you do, even with all the mistakes you make. Also that He will love you just for who you are.”

“I liked the subject on forgiveness, and how they talked about that it’s O.K. to mess up, and that it does not matter to God if we do, he still loves us.”

“I liked both Steve and Curt with their way of sharing their testimonies and Tyra’s powerful story about the way her mother thought of her; it really moved me.”

“If you like concerts and talks about God, then this is for you. The speakers were awesome and I personally liked everything: music, talks, and fellowship.”

“I liked how the testimonies described people in really tough situations and how they got through it and how these testimonies were used to reach others.”

“I liked who the speakers told you that God will love you no matter what you do, even with all of the mistakes you make. Also, that He will love you just for who you are.”

“I liked when Steve was talking about how God loves you no matter what you look like, and that everyone is beautiful because they are made in God’s image. It gave me more confidence.”
